Seze Devres' solo exhibition "Photograms"
Seze Devres, of Turkish descent, was raised in New York City. She has
been creating camera-less photographs (photograms) that explore the
potentials of light and color through abstraction since 1995. She has
exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in the United States,
Turkey, and France. Devres' photogram process has gained worldwide
recognition and was highlighted in the photo textbook "Exploring Color
In June 2007, Devres curated an exhibition on contemporary psychedelic
art called "Love's Secret Domain" in Brooklyn.
Seze has taught Photography and New Media Art at Kutztown University
in Pennsylvania, and International Center of Photography and 3rd Ward

Seze has been photographing special events in New York City on a
regular basis. Since 2006, she has been invited every summer to
photograph the hugely successful museum parties for the PS1/MoMA Warm
Up events in Long Island City, NY. Every week, she co-hosts and
photographs the guests of The Bunker, a world renowned weekly techno
party in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The first winery with operations established in Brooklyn, Brooklyn
Oenology, aka BOE, was founded in 2006 by winemaker Alie Shaper. Their
wines are produced exclusively from grapes grown in New York and each
wine features a work by a Brooklyn-based artist (Seze's art was
featured on a bottle of viognier in 2007).
In November of 2010, the Brooklyn Oenology Tasting Room was opened,
located at 209 Wythe Avenue between North 3rd and North 4th streets in
Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The Tasting Room showcases the entire range of
BOE wines and allows people to taste the great diversity and
possibilities that can come out of wines made almost literally in
their own backyards. Their guests can sample a flight of our wines,
enjoy a glass at the bar, or purchase a bottle to take home with them.
Brooklyn Oenology is inspired by the artisanal renaissance of
Brooklyn, as so many people are making great food products, art, and
music right here in this borough. In this spirit, the Tasting Room, in
addition to carrying our own wines, is a unique destination where you
can taste, learn about, and purchase a wide selection of
outstanding-quality products that are being made in Brooklyn and
neighboring areas of New York. We offer a rotating selection of other
great New York wines and spirits, as well as locally made foods,
including cheeses, chutneys, chocolate, and more.
